When I read Darcy Steinke's Flash Count Diary, I understood why the red fox had been appearing to me in dreams, showing up with a quietly sudden and clever reassurance. As a spirit animal, the red fox reminds me there is always more than one way to solve a problem. She prizes calm silence and wisdom. She's practical and keen. And, she's spritely and magical, owning her revelations and choosing when and with whom to share them. The red fox has also taught me there's beauty and purpose in red hair streaked with white, and as exhausted as I was from trying to cover my newly white hair with chemicals, that lesson was a gift.
"Red Fox" is acrylic on gallery-wrapped canvas, 8 x 10, and is currently in progress. It will be available both as an original and as prints.
